"For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to write a novel."

But I didn't know what it would be about. For years the idea was there, shapeless, waiting for something. Until I started becoming fascinated by the future —artificial intelligence, quantum computing, everything being built before our eyes week after week while almost no one looks— and with it came the achievements, the fears, the vertigo. The unrelenting question: where is all this taking us?

That question keeps me awake. And in the end, it found its shape.

The Second Singularity is the first book of The Awakening saga. I call it science fiction, but I suspect that within a decade or two it will stop being fiction at all.

My intention is to translate it into as many languages as possible. So that every reader can find it in their own.
